Master Tom Curry has been in the martial arts for 36 years. A lifetime student of the Arts, Master Curry is forever training and researching to stay on the cutting edge, 100% of the time. "I will never walk onto the floor without giving my students my very best". Master Curry is currently endorsed by local law enforcement, special education instructors, school teachers, psychiatrist, and medical doctors. Master Curry started training in 1971. His first instructor was Sensei Art Campbell who operated the Jackson Jujutsu Kai in Jackson, New Jersey. Learning both Kodakan Judo and Jujutsu was an excellent introduction into this fascinating world. “Sensei Campbell was a real gentleman, excellent technician and a good role model.”

As chance would have it, Master Curry met and befriended Arthur W. Beins in 1980, and joined what is now called The Art Beins Karate Personal Development Center. Master Beins is the Chief Instructor of the United States Black Cat Kenpo Federation, located in Howell New Jersey. Strong, agile and lightning fast, Master Beins ability is incredible. Whether running his (2) schools, fighting or teaching, Master Beins is driven towards excellence in all his endeavors. He has inspired Master Curry to achieve many of his accomplishments in life.

Master Curry also had the good fortune of befriending Dr. Moses Powell in 1991. He was soon invited into Dr. Powell’s class located on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. Training under Dr. Powell improved Master Curry’s martial arts ability tremendously. A very unique person, Dr. Powell is extremely gifted as both a gentleman and a martial artist. His understanding of movement is truly outstanding. “He was a very close friend of mine, and the best Jujutsu Master I've ever seen.”

Master Curry teaches both United States Black Cat Kenpo and Sanuces Ryu Jujutsu, separately. With 17 years of law enforcement experience, Master Curry does not teach theory, or what one thinks “might” work in a bad situation. He teaches realistic self-defense. A progressive program is taught to all age levels. Our young children are taught Karate skills, discipline and self-esteem. They are taught to stand up for themselves, be proud of who they are and believe in the “Yes, I can” attitude. The only “games” that our children play in class, is mastering the game of life. This is done by teaching life skills, becoming a “first-time listener”, leading by example and reinforcing family values already present and practiced in the home.

7. Over 15 Years of Law Enforcement experience.

8. Introduced Self-Defense Classes to the elderly of both Bedford Stuyvesant and Brownsville New York.

9. Received the “Safe Streets Appreciation Award” from the City of New York for teaching senior citizens self-defense.

10.Received the “Law Enforcement Appreciation Award” from the Kings County District Attorneys Office, for teaching self-defense to the elderly.

11.Raised $15,000.00 for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital at our annual Master Curry Kick-A-Thons'.

Master Curry is sought around the country for seminars. He has held self-defense seminars for boy scouts, pre-kindergarten classes, senior citizens, women’s classes, law enforcement and martial arts schools.
